    Maura Morales completed her education in classical ballet, modern dance, choreography, acting and folklore at the Camagüey State School of Arts Camagüey in Cuba. She was soloist at various state theatres in Cuba, Germany and Switzerland. Since 2008 she has been a freelance dancer and choreographer and performs regularly at renowned international dance festivals. (más…)

    Born in 1977, Mischa van Leeuwen was a leading dancer at Scapino Ballet Rotterdam for over 25 years. Throughout his career, he has received several scholarships and dance awards. Notably, he won second prize at the Choreography Solo Competition in Stuttgart for his piece titled "The Beginning," and he also received the Award of Merit from Dansersfonds '79. In 2017, Mischa co-founded the duet competition RIDCC, aimed at creating opportunities for choreographers. (más…)

    Tony Mills became Artistic Director of Dance Base on 20 September 2021 marking a generational shift for the organisation and the first time that artistic leadership had changed since Dance Base was founded almost 30 years ago. Tony moved to Orkney from Ghana at the age of six. After initially pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, he discovered his love of dance in part through classes at Dance Base and has been working as professional dance artist in Scotland for almost 20 years.     Graduated in Geography and History from the University of La Laguna in 1979, she opened the Saro León Gallery in 1988 with the aim of creating a meeting point for artists from the Canary Islands and those from other places. Throughout her extensive professional career leading her gallery, which this year celebrated its 36th anniversary, she has worked with numerous artists of various nationalities (African, European, Caribbean, and Asian).

    Quino Falero holds a degree in Hispanic Philology (ULL Tenerife) and a double official master's degree (URJC Madrid) in "Performing Arts" and "Cultural Project Management and Leadership," with specialized courses in various performing arts disciplines developed in the Canary Islands, Madrid, Barcelona, and Italy. He is a stage creator and cultural manager with over three decades of experience.
