«Imaginary Enemy is a contemporary circus-dance work that explores the theme of the ‘enemy within.’ The ‘imaginary enemy’ is not just an object in reality, but also a projection of each person’s heart. It may be the opposition in a relationship, the restlessness and anxiety, or even oneself, when overcoming personal barriers feels impossible. In the piece, through the exploration of confrontation, escape, and reconciliation, the performers reveal the inner struggle and emotional transformation that comes from facing what holds us back. It is an invitation to look inward and recognize that sometimes, the true enemy is also the first step toward healing and growth».

“Family Honour examines the eponymous concept through the eyes of a young girl trapped in moral codes mandated by her immediate environment, confronting her past ‘sin’ against tradition. Abandoned by her father, she seeks solace from memories resembling her father. Inspired by an intense discussion held in Kwame’s own family, the performance draws the audience into a world where hip-hop isn’t just rubbing shoulders with theatre but is theatre. How far would you have to go to maintain the family’s honour and is it truly honorable or just another traditional taboo?”.

«Lighea, the protagonist of my creation, is a sea creature with an unusual charm. Inspired by the fantastic 1956 tale by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, Lighea is a being of the sea. Half woman, half fish, she moves her body with elegance and beauty, her gaze empty, almost absent. Her enchanting song seduces a handsome young man, and their encounter unleashes a torrent of emotions and reflection. Theirs is a duet of listening, a dialogue of a unique and superhuman love, and of mutual support. This work reflects the human psyche’s need to dive into the vast ocean of imagination. This duet urges us to reflect on our impact on the oceans and marine creatures. Lighea creates an emotional bridge between the human world and the marine realm. She invites us to consider our responsibility in protecting and preserving these precious ecosystems, which are threatened by pollution and climate change”.
