“Is it possible to share the burden without relinquishing control? Supporting and yielding redefine the relationship. Two bodies are situated in a recognisable setting, permeated by everyday actions that soon begin to deviate from their original purpose. Through a physical language based on weight, inertia and resistance, the piece explores how power circulates through the body, destabilising the hierarchy and pre-established roles within a relationship. The performers construct a system in which the body ceases to be merely a body and becomes a mechanism or a surface. Supporting, displacing, yielding or collapsing. The relationship is not established through form, but through forces that negotiate in real time. Manipulation does not belong to a single body. Control circulates, is negotiated and is lost, generating a structure where the authorship of movement becomes diffuse and shifting. The piece proposes an alteration of the everyday that does not seek to represent another reality, but to reveal new ways of functioning within the one we already know”.

“The choreographer delves into the complex world of the 12-string guitar through an in-depth exploration of movement and the psychology of boxing. Her main source of inspiration is boxing: a form of violence that is controlled, structured and accepted by society; suffering is a way of ‘establishing oneself physically in the world’. It explores the various ways in which a human being would face even their own death in the quest for the feeling of being invincible and immortal.”

“It is a journey through the cracks of identity, where the fear of change turns into a sense of rootlessness. The body resists letting go of what once was, torn between regret and desire. Beneath a veil woven with memories and folklore, the heart’s sorrows are heard and embraced without resignation; memory is danced as a bittersweet solace. And the inner island is rebuilt: made of farewells, of skin, of roots, towards a new journey that is also a return”.
