One of the main motives of MASDANZA is to create places where people’s social and cultural life can develop, to create contexts for artists and citizens to meet, and for communities to meet each other, because these social habits are responsible for the birth of bonds of trust and coexistence. Offering the possibility for communities to meet, cooperate and build around a universal language such as dance will encourage care for the commons, civic awareness and development.

GIBBON (25’)
Skye, Scotland (UK)
Created & Performed by > JOSE TRIGUERO & CHRIS PATFIELD
Original Music > Benji Bouton & Kevin Toublant.
«Gandini Juggling has teamed up with emerging artists Patfield & Triguero to produce ‘Gibbon’, a surreal and enchanting feast of choreographed juggling with a sense of humour and a touch of absurdity.
‘Gibbon’ challenges the tradition of dance by expanding the realm of choreography to include flying objects, capturing the tension between defying gravity and the interaction of the dancing bodies. It combines the inevitable acceleration of a falling object with the slow movement of intertwined arms and hands.
In ‘Gibbon’, there is a kind of confusion between reality and fiction, and the creative process is constantly interrupted. It becomes a spiral of confusion that is progressively fuelled by gags, which are not devoid of direct and bewildering humour».
