She is involved in many areas of artistic activity involving dance, including performances, formation, creation, direction and management, specializing in the contemporary expression of this discipline.

In 1999 she created her own dance company, Qué Tal Estás. With the company she has  presented works as Ahoras, Papas & Noes, Untitled, La Técnica Perfecta del Giro, TAG, Allegro Andante Assestamento Perpetuo, and The Fifth Woman.

In 1996 she founded MASDANZA, The International Contemporary Dance Festival Of The Canary Islands and in 2012, she will celebrate her seventeenth year as Director.

MASDANZA is very careful to choose a balanced group of personalities, that beyond their ability to value the selected works, they also have the capacity to promote the works of these new artists around the world, providing them with an opportunity to show their work.

Co-founder and Co-Director of the Platform of Creation ÀREAtangent (2002-2010), artistic creator, advisor, coordinator and producer. Presently, she is the Coordinator of Graner, Center for the Investigation and Creation for the Language of the Body and Movement, administered by the Consorci of Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona.

ENRIQUE CÁRDENES BATISTA – President of the Jury

Dancer, choreographer and video-artist, formed in Las Palmas and Madrid. He has worked individually and in the following companies: Contemporary Ballet of Las Palmas, Andanza, Provisional Danza, Cía. Platanera, El Ojo de la Faraona and Perroverde. He collaborates with MASDANZA since 2003 in the Selection Committee of the Festival.

PEDRO BERDÄYES

Founder of the company 10&10 Danza. Professor of Contemporary Dance (release), improvisation and choreographic composition, Department Head in the Royal Professional Conservatory of Dance “Mariemma” in Madrid. He belongs to the Guest teaching Staff of Hogeschool Voor de Kunsten Arnhem in The Netherlands and to Dance Space in New York. Mr. Berdäyes received the ADE Award in 1991 and the National Dance Award in the category of Creation in 2000.

“This piece investigates patterns. Throughout the piece the issue of investigation goes deeper and deeper into the forest of the subconscious. The ongoing, never-ending need to free ourselves from emotional patterns may perhaps be the only chance to finally submit to them.”

Artists in Residency is a program of the Production Area of the Auditorium of Tenerife “Adán Martín” with the main objective of supporting creation, investigation and experimentation for artists working in the arts of movement.

The program offers artists a space to develop and present their works, and to establish a dialogue with other artists residing in the same space or that are in a moment in their creative processes where they want to work with other artists, thorugh workshops, encounters, works in progress, etc.

The program offers a space that suits the necessities of each residency, technical and financial support.
